バーニー、意気軒昂　－　オバマケア擁護の大集会を呼びかける オバマケアの擁護を掲げて、15日（日）に全国的な集会を繰り広げることが語られている。 民主党は危機的な状況におかれている。議員数の点で共和党に比べて 少ない。それにいま、危機に立つ民主党をリードしていく人物が 登場してきていない。そうしたなか、バーニー・サンダースが民主党の 改革を掲げて結集の核になることを念頭に置きながら活動を始めている。 いま問題になっているのは、共和党がオバマケアを予算の削減をbudget reconciliation の方法により、民主党のフィルバスターを阻止して成立させようとする方針への抵抗の 呼びかけである。共和党はさらにメディケイドを事実上廃止する方向で動いている。 オバマケアがなくなると２千万人が影響を受け、メディケイドがなくなると高齢者は 実質的に医療を受けることができなくなる。 トランプは、そうしたことを行おうとする共和党の議員と私は違う、とずっと選挙中、 唱えていたのである。 　抗議の集会はキングの記念日の前日に行われ、バーニーやナンシー・ロペス はアトランタの集会に参加する予定になっている。 　民主党のなかに、彼を支える若い政治家が出てくることが必要とされている。 バーニーはそれをOur Revolutionのなかから探す活動を続けており、文字通り 草の根運動からの寄付をもとにして動いている。そこには、若い人がかなり結集している （７月あたり、ものすごい支援が若者を中心にあった。 ヒラリーへの支持で大いに支援者は混乱に陥ったわけだが、 意外とそこからの回復の道は着実にとっていたことが みてとれる。） ＊＊＊ Sen. Bernard Sanders and Democratic leaders on Wednesday called for nationwide rallies as part of a “day of action” this month to protest GOP plans to dismantle Obamacare and revamp the Medicare program for seniors. Mr. Sanders, the Vermont independent who emerged as a progressive hero during the 2016 campaign, warned in a “dear colleague” letter that Republicans in charge of both chambers will use a fast-track budget tool to gut the Affordable Care Act, imperiling coverage for millions.
